Infinix has unveiled two concept devices at the Mobile World Congress 2025. The two concept phones are a solar-powered smartphone and a color-changing E Ink phone. Using what the firm refers to as solar energy-reserving technology, Infinix’s new concept phone has a solar panel on the back. Compared to conventional silicon-based panels, perovskite solar cells are smaller, less expensive, and simpler to manufacture.

The phone also uses Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) to control power flow, which maximizes energy efficiency and keeps the phone from overheating in direct sunlight. The solar system’s current 2W power output is intended to prolong battery life rather than serve as a main source of charging.
The solar-powered phone case from Infinix is maybe even more fascinating than the integrated solar panel. In contrast to the phone, users may choose between regular and solar-powered protection with this detachable cover. It provides power to the gadget without the need for an additional charging port by connecting to it via tiny side contacts.
This might be helpful in emergency scenarios where more battery life could be crucial, such as power outages or outdoor excursions.
Infinix Color changing e-ink tech
Infinix demonstrated an enhanced E-Color Shift 2.0 technology with a new AI-powered function at the present MWC trade conference in Barcelona. It describes โan advanced AI-driven customization experience that transforms smartphone aestheticsโฆallows users to personalize their deviceโs appearance through dynamic, interactive color transitions based on selected preferences and external stimuli.โ
This is the second generation, and unlike its predecessor, which changes color when plugged in, the new version draws power from the smartphone battery, which makes it unique. The color and patterns of the rear panel may now be altered by users, who can select from a variety of pre-made designs or even use an AI-powered system that can match colors to images or the weather.
