Nothing Phone 3a vs Nothing Phone 3a Pro

Nothing has launched the Phone 3a and Phone 3a Pro in India. Interestingly, we didn’t see the Nothing Phone 3, but we got cheaper phones from UK-based company Nothing. Last year, Nothing released the Nothing Phone 2a in India, and it was a hit in Indian markets. Now, the brand has developed two new phones priced under Rs 30K, so the question arises: which one is better? Let’s try to see which one stands tall.

Nothing Phone 3a vs Nothing Phone 3a Pro-Design

The Nothing Phone (3a) and (3a) Pro have a transparent back with Glyph lights in a recognizable arrangement, which is comparable to earlier Nothing smartphones. The Phone (3a) features a horizontal camera module with three cameras at the rear and comes in white, black, and blue color options.

But the Nothing Phone 3a Pro has a completely different appearance. To be honest, it looks nice despite having a considerably greater camera bump and a different camera configuration. Black and grey are the two color options that will be offered. The Nothing Phone 3a Pro costs more and weighs more than the Nothing Phone 3a. Both phones have AI features and dual speakers.

The 6.77-inch AMOLED screens on both phones have a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, compatibility for HDR10+, and a maximum brightness of 3000 nits. It includes screen protection as well, although the company has chosen to employ panda glass protection rather than gorilla glass.

Nothing Phone 3a vs Nothing Phone 3a Pro-Performance

Nothing Phone 3a and Nothing Phone 3a Pro are powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 2, which is last year’s chipset based on the 4nm process. The chipset is slightly better than the Dimensity 7300 chipsets, which were used in the predecessor. Out-of-the-box users will get Android 15 with Nothing OS 3 skin with a promise of 3 years of Android update and 4 years of security update patches.

The initial RAM for the Phone (3a) series is 8 GB. However, a 12GB RAM version of the Phone (3a) Pro is available. The 128 GB and 256 GB storage choices are the same on both smartphones. Both smartphones use LPDDR4X for RAM and UFS 2.2 for storage.

Nothing Phone 3a vs Nothing Phone 3a Pro-Camera

The main difference between the phones is the camera. The Nothing Phone 3a and 3a Pro have a 50MP main camera with OIS and Auto focus support. It also sports an 8MP ultrawide sensor.

The Phone (3a) Pro, on the other hand, has a more sophisticated periscope with a 50 MP Sony LYT600 1/1.95-inch sensor that supports OIS and has 3X optical and 6X in-sensor zoom. A normal 50 MP Samsung JN5 1/2.76-inch sensor telephoto lens with 2X optical zoom is included on the Phone (3a), in comparison. It does not, however, support OIS, just like the Pro model. The 3a Pro boasts a better resolution 50 MP lens for selfies, while the normal phone has a 32 MP front camera.

Nothing Phone 3a vs Nothing Phone 3a Pro-Battery

Both phones feature 50W wired fast charging and have a 5,000 mAh battery. There are no promises that these phones can be fully charged in less than an hour or charged 50% in 19 minutes. Unfortunately, neither item comes with a charger in the packaging.

Nothing Phone 3a and 3a Pro Pricing in India

The Nothing Phone (3a) Pro starts at Rs 29,999, while the Nothing Phone (3a) starts at Rs 24,999. Except for the Pro model’s zoom photography features, the Nothing Phone (3a) has comparable hardware at a lower asking price, making it a better bargain at a Rs 5,000 difference.

Users who want to buy the Phone 3a or Phone 3a Pro can buy it from here: The phone will be available from 11th March 2025.
