Huawei Luxeed R7 launched in China

Huawei Luxeed R7 launched in China this week. Luxeed is the latest addition to Huawei and Chery’s joint venture. The Luxeed R7 Extended Range Electric Vehicle (EREV) was recently introduced in China by the two businesses, which are members of the Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA). The EV is available in two variants: Max and Ultra, and is priced at $41,250 and $43,700, respectively.

With a low drag coefficient of only 0.247 Cd, the R7 is an SUV that is five meters long. With LED light bars on the front and back, a panoramic roof, and concealed door handles, its design is sleek and contemporary. The new Tourmaline Blue is one of eight colors that are available.

When the seats are folded down, the back can hold up to 2130L of storage in addition to a 52L frunk. And it’s obvious that Huawei is attempting to meet your needs if you’re looking for long-haul comfort.

All the comforts you expect when you’re creeping up on $50,000 are included in the cabin, including a leg rest, heating, ventilation, massage, and an 18-way adjustable zero-gravity co-pilot seat. It features a 1000W, 17-speaker, Huawei-branded audio system for entertainment. Both trims use a 1.5L four-cylinder range extender under the hood (or, more precisely, beneath the floor) in conjunction with a 53.4 kWh LFP battery from CATL. It is powered by Huawei’s Jujing 400V platform, which can reach 80% in 15 minutes from 20%.

Additionally, the Max model (rear-wheel drive) boasts a 1,673-kilometer range when the battery and gasoline tank are fully charged. In terms of distance, that is more than adequate to compete with models like Tesla’s Model Y or NIO’s ES8, which are up 7% from the previous model.

Performance

The SUV has a performance rating of 7.4 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h. Although it’s not the fastest, the Ultra model adds all-wheel drive and two motors for a total of 510 horsepower if you want more power. That variant has a slightly reduced range (down to 1,551km), but it reaches 100km/h in 4.9 seconds.

It can park itself and supports NOA navigation in cities and on highways. With a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and a 15.6-inch center touchscreen, HarmonyOS 4 powers the dashboard. As anticipated, OTA updates are supported.

The Huawei Turing intelligent chassis, which incorporates a conventional double wishbone front suspension and a multi-link rear suspension system, supports the R7’s driving characteristics. According to reports, it only takes 35.6 meters to brake from 100 km/h to zero, and Huawei’s iVSE technology adapts to different road conditions.
