A smartwatch that tracks all fitness data, like counting steps, heart rate, Spo2 measurement, etc. With a brief preview of the OPPO Watch X2, we’re learning about what may be the next addition to the still extremely elite group of smartwatches that can detect blood pressure.

Measuring blood pressure is not easy for a smartwatch. The HUAWEI WATCH D2 and its inflatable band are one example of a miniature version of the more conventional method. Firms like Samsung employ less complicated sensor gear but still require you to use an external blood pressure cuff to recalibrate periodically. The next generation of Apple Watches may even support blood pressure.

Blood pressure monitoring is also said to be a function of the Apple Watch Ultra 3 and Series 11. Oppo and OnePlus, as a result, are anticipated to release the functionality many months ahead of schedule. For the last four iterations of the Galaxy Watch, Samsung has provided blood pressure monitoring; however, initial calibration necessitates the use of an external medical-grade blood pressure monitor. We suspect that these additional watches may be the same.

Oppo shared an anecdote on the Chinese social media Weibo, about getting blood pressure on a smartwatch. Oppo watch X2 might get a blood pressure measurement. When we use Google Translate to see the image he sends, we can see that the wearable has been tracking his blood pressure patterns for a few weeks and has now raised a “suspected risk” alarm for a late-afternoon rise.

The Oppo Watch X2 will be rebranded as OnePlus Watch 3 for global launch. Naturally, the ridiculous plastic cover that obscures most of the OPPO Watch X2’s design will not be there when it officially launches, but at least it gives us much to look forward to. Even though we have concerns about the accuracy of this blood pressure monitor and how difficult it may be to maintain calibration, this is the type of wearable advancement that we love to see.

While there aren’t any such rumors for Oppo yet, OnePlus may introduce a regular Watch 3 and a Watch 3 Pro, and we’re not sure which would be a rebranded Oppo Watch X2. OnePlus has not revealed the launch dates for either the Watch 3 or the Open 2, and the vague rumor suggests the launch could occur at any time in the first quarter of 2025. Rumors are it going to debut in February.
