Samsung Glucose watch is real, the company now working on a non-invasive device that can quickly measure blood sugar levels, which is great as a lot of people are suffering from diabetes around the world, especially in India there are a lot of diabetes patients. Though we already have a device called a glucometer that can measure blood sugar it would be great if the device is more compact. However, the device has not come to the market.
Apple and Samsung both are working on this device and the companies have spent almost 5 years but there has been no result However,ย according to a report, Samsung is now inching closer to the goal. The senior Vice president gave us some hints about its progress. After the Unpacked event, Samsung held a health form in California, where some insights were shared related to AI and health management. Dr. Hon Pak, Senior Vice President and Head of the Digital Health Team at Samsung, gave a quick overview of non-invasive blood glucose monitoring and provided an update on the company’s advancements after going over topics like Energy Scores and wearables.
In addition to CGM (continuous glucose monitor) integrated nutrition coaching, which will probably be provided through the Samsung Health app, Pak claims that the tech giant is “deeply invested” in creating non-invasive blood glucose tracking technology.
The first struggle is developing the technology, and based on its claims, Samsung seems to be doing well. Its next significant obstacle will be getting FDA clearance. The regulatory agency issued a public safety alert in February of last year alerting consumers, patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals about illegal items that make claims to test blood glucose levels, such as smartwatches and smart rings.
Like its previous devices, Samsung will receive FDA clearance if and when its technology is ready; but, to do so, it will need to show off its testing methods and emphasize clinical data.
