Redmi recently launched its low-cost budget phone in India, the Redmi A5, which is sadly a 4G phone in the era of 5G. The new 4G handset will be powered by the UNISOC T7250 chipset and carries a massive 5,200 mAh battery. In addition to a 6.88-inch display with a waterdrop notch and a refresh rate of 120 Hz, the Redmi A5 boasts a 32-megapixel dual rear camera array. Earlier this month, the Redmi A5 was introduced in a few international regions.
Redmi A5 Price in India
In India, the Redmi A5 with 3GB RAM and 64GB storage costs Rs. 6,499 in total. The cost of the 4GB + 128GB RAM and storage device is Rs. 7,499 in India. It comes in three color options: Pondicherry Blue, Just Black, and Jaisalmer Gold. Starting tomorrow at noon IST, the phone will be sold on Flipkart and the Xiaomi India website.
In contrast, the 4GB RAM + 128GB storage model of the phone costs IDR 11,99,000 (around Rs. 6,100) in Indonesia. Interestingly, the Redmi A4 5G model was released with a price tag of Rs. 8,499 for the 4 GB+64 GB RAM and storage setup.

Running Android 15 (Go Edition), the Redmi A5 boasts a 6.88-inch HD+ (720×1,640 pixel) screen with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a touch sampling rate of up to 240 Hz. TรV Rheinland has validated the screen. It is equipped with 128GB of eMMC 5.1 storage, 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM, and an octa-core Unisoc T7250 processor. While the available memory can be practically enlarged up to 8GB, the onboard storage can be expanded up to 2TB (microSD card).
A 32-megapixel main sensor and an unidentified secondary sensor are part of the Redmi A5’s dual rear camera array. It has an 8-megapixel front camera for video chats and selfies. Additionally, the phone is IP52-rated.
The Redmi A5 has a USB Type-C connector, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and a 3.5mm headphone jack as connectivity options. It features a fingerprint sensor on the side and a face unlock function powered by AI. A 5,200mAh battery that supports 15W cable charging powers the Redmi A5. It weighs 193g and has dimensions of 171.7 x 77.8 x 8.26mm.
