Google has recently released the fourth beta of Android 16. The latest Android 16 will hit smartphones later this year. There is no official release date, but according to reports, the stable update will be public at the Google I/O event, which will happen next month.
Google’s own Pixel smartphones and tablets, as well as those of its partner companies, can now get the Android 16 Beta 4 upgrade. Let’s look at the list of third-party phone brands, compatible Pixel models, and all the new features in this update:

Other than pixel devices, Google Android 16 beta partners will also receive the beta 4 update. Vivo, Realme, Xiaomi, Honor, Lenovo, Sharp, OnePlus, iQOO, and OPPO are Google partners.
Google Pixel receives Android 16 Beta 4: New changes
Google’s release notes state that Android 16 Beta 4 is the second significant platform stability release, meaning that all of the OS’s app-facing features and developer APIs are final. Before the expected Q2 2025 release, developers were able to incorporate new functionality into their applications after the platform achieved platform stability in March.
New Changes:
- Demo of gesture navigation in settings
- Media player notification on the lockscreen will be darker.
- Battery Health information is not available, this might be a bug.
- The theme you select will determine how much color is added to the digital clocks on the Always-on Display (AOD).
- The recent menu’s long-press menu now includes screenshot and choose options.
Bugs Fixed
- Fixed a problem with the Pixel Weather app where the radar map would vanish (Issue #407282089).
- Problems that caused delayed feedback and affected haptic performance have been fixed (Issues #400455826, #398829454).
- An issue that caused some devices to use excessive amounts of power has been fixed (Issue #395519809).
- Fixed an issue (Issue #402639338) that caused the system to restart when answering calls in particular situations.
- Resolved issue #408330740, which was a crash that happened when screen magnification was turned on.
- Restart issues caused by using the range API have been resolved (Issue #406577030).
- Issue #398963286, which was preventing the screen saver from beginning, has been fixed.
Companies like Honor, iQOO, Lenovo, OnePlus, Oppo, Realme, Vivo, and Xiaomi are able to customize the operating system for their smartphones, tablets, and foldable devices. According to Google, a major SDK release with behavior changes, APIs, and features is planned for Q2 2025, while a minor release with API changes and features is planned for Q4 2025.
