DJI Mavic 4 Pro

DJI Mavic 4 Pro has finally launched, but it will not be available in the US because of trump tariffs, which is like a potential DJI ban. The product is not on sale in America, which might disappoint fans, as the DJI Mavic 4 Pro is the most technologically advanced consumer drone ever made.

DJI was the first drone manufacturer to introduce a flyer with a triple camera array a few years ago. The Hasselblad-led cameras are mounted to a 360-degree gimbal in the follow-up, enabling producers to “push their content to new levels.”

The Mavic 4 Pro has a triple camera setup, and it can shoot up to 6K at 60fps with 16 stops of dynamic range, which is far better than the drones present in the market. Along with increasing obstacle avoidance in low light with a new LiDAR system, DJI also increased peak speed, battery life, and range. Additionally, the business unveiled a brand-new RC Pro 2 controller with a practical new folding form.

DJI Mavic 4 Pro Overview

DJI Mavic Pro is the most technologically advanced consumer drone we have ever seen, It is better in every aspect great video quality, can detect obstacles precisely, tracking targets, better battery life, and great range. We don’t know if this drone will be available in India but it will not be available in US.

Design

The large circular triple-camera “Infinity Gimbal” module at the front is the defining feature, as revealed via leaks and a teaser last week. For better stabilization and intriguing camera angles, the gimbal should be allowed to revolve. It allows the gimbal to spin at any angle and increases the tilt-up angle from 60 to 70 degrees, enabling unconventional “Dutch” camera angles for more captivating images. Naturally, it can also swivel 90 degrees to provide vertical, high-resolution video for social media.

The 2.3-pound Mavic 4 Pro weighs 0.2 pounds more than the Mavic 3 Pro because of its redesigned enclosure and somewhat bigger batteries. Unlike the previous model, the propeller arms may now be folded and unfolded in any sequence thanks to an upgrade. Additionally, the body is more aerodynamic to increase speed and economy.

A forward-facing LiDAR sensor, which is tucked within the left propeller arm, significantly improves object detection at night. Six omnidirectional fisheye sensors on the drone can detect light in as low as 0.1 lux, which is the same as a full moonlit night sky.

The basic Mavic 4 Pro has 64GB of storage (42GB usable), but the Creator Combo version has a substantial 512GB of high-speed storage (460GB usable), since the Mavic 3 Pro only had 8GB of internal memory. Additionally, both versions have a microSD card slot.

The RC2 screen controller that was initially used with the Air 3 in the basic and Fly More kits is included with the Mavic 4 Pro. But DJI also unveiled the RC2 Pro, a controller that’s completely different from anything I’ve ever seen. The brilliant 7-inch HDR display tilts 90 degrees (automatically rotating the Mavic 4 Pro’s camera 90 degrees) for vertical footage and folds up to enable a multi-angle view.

When the screen is folded back, the joysticks automatically collapse into the body, eliminating the need to stow them, but you can still do so. It features all the controls needed to fly and operate the camera, including a button that turns the camera 90 degrees. For fast data transfers, the RC2 Pro also features a USB-C connector, an HDMI, and Wi-Fi 6.

The new 95Wh batteries can fly for up to 51 minutes, which is equivalent to 40โ€“45 minutes of normal use. Compared to the Mavic 3 Pro’s 30-35 minute real-world battery life, it is a huge improvement. Even better, the Fly More kit charger allows them to charge more quickly than before, taking 51 minutes for a single battery (via USB-C) or 90 minutes for three.

Filming motor vehicles will be greatly aided by the Mavic 4 Pro’s increased speed from 47 mph to 56 mph (90 km/h) in sport mode without obstacle recognition. At 40 mph, the top speed is likewise quicker in regular mode with tracking and obstacle detection. However, it lacks the agility of DJI’s Mini 4 Pro because it is still a large SUV-style drone. Additionally, it is not recommended to navigate around people or in confined areas like the Avata 2 without prop protectors.

At 83 dB, the Mavic 4 Pro’s noise level is the same as that of the Mavic 3 Pro. On the other hand, the frequency is lower and less annoying, particularly when it’s flying near people. Well done, DJI, for that improvement.

The Mavic 4 Pro’s video transmission range is now up to 18.6 miles (30 km) thanks to the new O4+ transmission technology, which doubles the Mavic 3 Pro’s range. I discovered that the Mavic 4 Pro was less prone to interference and dropouts than previous models, even though most pilots won’t fly that far. Additionally, it enables brilliant 10-bit HDR 1080p live video transmission for improved visibility in sunshine and higher-quality backup recordings.

You may manually adjust the camera position while maintaining your subject in frame with the ActiveTrack 360 feature, which was initially featured on the Mini 4 Pro. Additionally, it is made to maintain focus on subjects that are partially concealed.

The Mavic 4 Pro boasts the finest video quality of any consumer drone I’ve seen thanks to its upgraded camera setup. The primary Hasselblad-branded 28mm wide camera features a 100-megapixel dual ISO 4/3 sensor that can film at 6K 60 fps or 4K 120 fps. To maximize dynamic range, DJI offers professional D-Log and D-LogM modes. Additionally, it produces 100MP images. One of the few drones featuring a variable aperture (f/2.0 to f/11) for improved depth of field adjustment and increased usefulness in sunshine is the Mavic 4 Pro.

Similar to the Mini 4 Pro, the Infinity Gimbal has a 70mm medium telephoto lens with a 1/1.3-inch sensor. Additionally, a longer 168mm camera with a 1/1.5-inch sensor is included, which should be perfect for following animals. Both include dual native ISO, subject-tracking AF, f/2.8 aperture, 4K 60p video, and D-Log/D-LogM and HDR.

The Hasselblad camera produces exceptionally crisp and color-accurate 6K and 4K videos with high dynamic range, especially when capturing details of the sky and clouds. Although it makes color correcting a little more difficult, switching to D-Log mode further increases dynamic range. I found that D-LogM provided a decent mix between dynamic range and simplicity of tuning.

With its quicker internal storage, the Creator Combo edition of the Mavic 4 Pro provides 1,200 Mbps H.264 All-I for simpler editing, while the standard model can shoot H.265 footage at up to 180 Mbps. However, the ProRes 4:2:2 HQ option that was offered on the Mavic 3 Pro’s Cine version was discontinued by DJI.

The Mavic 4 Pro’s inbuilt dual ISO capabilities allow it to perform better in low light than competing drones. Grain was easily suppressed with a little noise reduction when photographing a cityscape at sunset at ISO 6400 and above. Additionally, the D-Log mode offers sufficient dynamic range to balance portions of luminous sky and dark ground while shooting at dawn or nightfall.

DJI Mavic 4 Pro Price in India and Price in USA

The base model costs ยฃ1,879 in the UK (about $2,485) and comes with a 64-GB storage module, one battery, and an RC 2 controller. Two batteries and a charging hub are included in the Fly More bundle, which costs Rs. 2,79,622/ยฃ2,459 (~US$3,250). The Creator Combo package, which increases capacity to 512 GB and adds an RC 2 Pro controller, parallel charging hub, and more potent adaptor, costs Rs. 3,64,907/ยฃ3,209 (US$4,245).
