Asus Rog Phone 8 pro was announced on Jan 8th 2024 and is available from Jan 18th 2024. This time Asus finally changed it design which i am not fond of but design looks more simple rather than chunky designs.
The days of vibrant colors, oversized patterns, and bold typography on gaming-focused phones are long gone. Asus also removed colored RGB lighting from the back panel. This phone is a much more sophisticated, slimline model that appears to be your typical cell phone at first glance. With all this, the Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro comes with all the high-end specs that you can imagine but at a hefty price.
Personally, I don’t think the design is appealing. I’m a gamer; therefore, while some may appreciate the design, I think a gaming phone should look like a gaming phone. A gaming phone should have loud colors and a chunky design, which is what makes them unique.
Display and Build: The Asus Rog Phone 8 Pro comes with a 6.78-inch big screen that also has gorilla glass protection, i.e., Gorilla Glass Victus 2, and also has a glass back with gorilla glass protection. The phone has an aluminum frame with a gaming trigger on one side. The phone has an AMOLED display, so the colors are vivid and bright. On top of that, we get a 165Hz refresh rate, which is smooth, and you will see no lag.
This time, the Asus Rog Phone 8 Pro has very minimal bezels, which is very good, but due to this, there are no front-firing speakers; instead, we see speakers at the bottom of the phone, and I don’t like it.
The Asus Rog Phone 8 Pro comes with the latest Qualcomm SM8650-AB Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 (4 nm) and Adreno 750 GPU. With an impressive score of 2,359,969 on AnTuTu, the ASUS ROG Phone 8 Pro has proven its capacity to handle a wide range of jobs and applications.
With a score of 7,422, ASUS has revealed that the ROG Phone 8 Pro beat the A17 Pro in the multi-core test for the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Maxx.
As for gaming performance in real life, all the games that we tried played really well, whether it was BGMI, Fortnite, or Genshin Impact. All of them worked fine, and there was no lag. Throughout use, there was absolutely no lag, and the gameplay and graphics loads were clear, crisp, and fluid. Though you can achieve greater and more reliable performance for demanding games by activating the more potent X Mode, I didn’t find much of a need for it while exploring Genshin Impact’s several realms.

Battery: You’ll probably want to use the Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro as your daily mobile companion when you’re not gaming on it. In light of this, it’s a fantastic all-arounder with strong features and a stylish appearance that make it suitable for both daily usage and gaming.
The ROG Phone 8 Pro had excellent battery retention while not in use it lost just about 8% of its power in a single day when I wasn’t gaming , and when I was using it regularly, I felt like I could go two to three days without needing to charge it. Playing games for about two hours every day, that was closer to 1.5โ2 days when utilizing it more intensely to test games.
It took around an hour to charge from a low of 5-6% battery to full power. When compared to other phones on the market, it is rather amazing, and it made using the phone on a regular basis very easy.
Also, the battery capacity has decreased compared to previous Rog phones; it now has 5500 mAh, whereas an earlier Rog phone had 6000 mAh.
