Honor is now preparing for its flagship smartphone. According to rumors, the company is secretly developing a smartphone with a dual 200MP camera setup. This will be the industry’s first smartphone with dual 200MP cameras.
Tipster Fixed focus Digital leaked it, but didn’t confirm the model name. The phone might be launched as Honor Magic 8 Ultra, and this will give competition to the S26 Ultra and Vivo X300 Ultra.

Honor’s persistent effort in mobile photography would be further upon with the speculated Magic 8 Ultra. Strong telephoto configurations were previously present in devices like as the Magic 7 RSR Porsche Edition. However, Honor appears to be going all out this time with a dual 200MP setup, most likely combining a 200MP periscope telephoto with a wide-angle primary sensor.
Zoom and clarity might be revolutionized with that type of setup. Other companies, like Honor, Vivo, and Xiaomi, have achieved the 200MP level with a single periscope sensor. However, two high-resolution sensors collaborate? That’s a whole new lane.
Honor’s Chief Imaging Engineer, Luo Wei, recently addressed the claims in a public appearance. The company may introduce a 1-inch sensor or test dual-lens-per-sensor designs, according to some internet rumors. Luo swiftly put an end to that, claiming that the concepts were unnecessary and overly convoluted. He outlined Honor’s true priorities instead, which include improving AI-powered features where hardware cannot be replaced, developing tools where AI enhances camera performance rather than makes up for flaws, and more.

The Magic 8 and Magic 8 Pro, which both come with the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 processor, will be released by Honor in October. Later in the year, the anticipated Magic 8 Ultra, or whatever it is ultimately named, may make its premiere alongside them or take center stage at a different flagship event.
Honor has no intention of remaining silent while rivals push ever-more-extreme camera gear. Competitors may be forced to completely reconsider their 2025 camera plans if the twin 200MP system becomes a reality.
