BBK Electronics Corporation manufactures mobiles in India:

BBK Electronics Corporation is China’s biggest smartphone maker and has various brands and sub-brands. OnePlus, Oppo, Vivo, Realme, and iQOO (Vivo sub-brand) are mainly controlled by the BBK Group. Brands like Oppo and Vivo already manufacture their smartphones in India; now they are expanding their manufacturing by teaming up with Dixon Technologies and Karbonn Group for the production of their smartphones, mainly the Oppo, Vivo, and Realme. Due to the PLI scheme introduced by the Indian government (NDA), companies of various sectors are opting for the PLI incentive to reduce their taxes, which is eventually helping India increase its made-in-India products.

Though these are Chinese products, the Indian government is not stopping their manufacturing in India. The Indian government is quite strict against the Chinese companies; a few of them were also caught in India for transferring their profits to China, tax evasion, and money laundering.

BBK Electronics Corporation brands Oppo and Vivo have not applied for PLI benefits; instead, they are teaming up with Indian companies to manufacture their smartphones.

BBK Electronics Corporation has enormous revenue of Rs 82,000 (approx.) crore in 2022–23. As rival companies like Samsung are opting for the PLI scheme, Pixel will also start manufacturing in India this year.

Indian government has been encouraging Chinese smartphones brands to manufacture its smartphone by collaborating with local partners in India. and also to appoint Indian executives in key management positions. The government aim is to produce components locally in India.

According to statistics from market tracker Counterpoint Research, Xiaomi and Realme saw year-over-year improvements in the October–December 3rd quarter of 2023, while Vivo, Oppo, and OnePlus saw increases in their market share of up to two percentage in the year 2023 compared to the previous year 2022.

BBK electronics corporation is divided into two main sales areas. Sales of the Oppo, OnePlus and Realme brands are tracked by Oppo Mobiles India, while sales of the Vivo and iQOO brands are tracked by Vivo Mobile India. Oppo Mobiles India’s latest financial report filed with the Republic of India revealed a 9% decline in revenue or Rs 51,994 crore for the financial year 2022-2023. The company attributed the decline to difficult market conditions. On the other hand, Vivo Mobile India’s revenue grew 11% to Rs 29,875 crore.
