Design and Display:
The design of the Pixel 8a is quite similar to its predecessor, but there is a slight change in design; now it has a rounded design like the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro. Apart from that, the Pixel 8a is built with an aluminum frame and has a matte back design, so the in-hand feel is amazing. Earlier phones had glossy backs, which I personally do not prefer.
The pixel 8a comes with IP67 rating which is for water and dust resistance.
The Pixel 8a display has been improved a lot from its predecessor. It comes with a 6.1-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2,400 x 1,800 pixels. The display technology is the same as the Pixel 8 and can reach peak brightness of up to 2000 nits. The colors on the screen are solid and sharp and do not feel cheap. The one thing that stands out is the refresh rate of the smartphone, i.e., 120 Hz. It feels smooth, and there is no stutter or lag in the smartphone. If your priority is display, then this phone is for you, as the Pixel 8a display is much better than its competitors.
Cameras:
The Pixel 8a comes with a dual camera setup that consists of a 64 MP primary camera paired with a 13 MP ultrawide camera, along with a 13 MP selfie camera on the front. It has a lot of features like digital zoom, auto-flash, face detection, touch-to-focus etc. Apart from this, it has AI features just like Pixel 8, e.g., magic editor, best take, magic eraser, etc.
The photos taken from the back camera are just amazing in daylight. The photos come out solidly sharp, and the detailing is good compared to its competitors. Night mode shots are also pretty impressive, and in low light, they produce great photos.
The selfie camera also produces great photos, and in low light, it varies.
You can shoot 4K quality videos at 60 fps. The videos are also nice, but they don’t compare with the S24 Ultra and iPhone.

Performance:
The Pixel 8a is powered with Tensor G3 chipset which is the same chipset that has been used in google pixel 8 and 8 pro, by the way its not the powerful chipset in market.
Pixel 8a also has circle to search feature which is very useful and works all the time perfectly. It is also powered with Googles Gemini assistant,
Overall the performance is impressive it does day to day tasks smoothly. Even if the Pixel 8a receives lower benchmark scores, I’ll be content as long as it can manage them with fluid results and rapid answers.
Battery:
The Pixel 7a’s 4,385mAh battery has been replaced with a 4,492mAh cell that can support both wireless and 18W wired charging.

The Pixel 8a is an obvious choice for both performance-focused users. The one thing that stands out is seven years of software updates, which is very impressive for today. The only problem is the price. At this price, users can buy top-tier phones like the Iqoo Neo 9 Pro or the OnePlus 12R. It depends on the user what they want.
