Xiaomi recently introduced the flagship killer and has already launched it in India, so let’s review it. The Civi smartphones are focused on cameras; you might already know that they use Leica lenses.
Design and Build:
The Xiaomi 14 Civi comes in three different colors: Cruise Blue, Matcha Green, and Shadow Black. The Matcha green is making news because of its vegan leather on the back panel (a half panel), which looks gorgeous. The other half panel is made up of patterned glass inlay. The phone has vegan leather edges; due to this, holding the phone in hand is comfortable. The front panel is made up of glass and has Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection with a punch hole design.
The display is a 6.55-inch AMOLED FHD+ panel with a resolution of 1236×2750 pixels. The phone supports HDR10+ and has peak brightness up to 3000 nits. If you are a binge watcher, then this might be for you. The phone also supports a 120Hz refresh rate, which is impressive. Scrolling on the web is a delight due to the higher refresh rate. Most of the phones have a flat screen, and some of them have a curved display. The two sides are curved, but some of them have all curved displays, like the Xiaomi 14 Civi, also called a quad-curved display. The phone has great viewing angles and great touch response.
Cameras:
The biggest highlight of the Xiaomi 14 Civi is its camera. Xiaomi has been partnering with Leica. It uses a Leica lens, and this is not the first time Xiaomi is using its lens; earlier Xiaomi 14 and 14 Ultra also used the same lenses. It has a triple camera setup at the back: the primary camera is a 50MP camera, the ultrawide camera is 12MP, and the telephoto camera is a 50MP camera. At the front, there is a dual camera setup of 32 MP.
The photos taken by the camera are crisp, sharp, and vibrant. The one thing that stands out is the dynamic range of the camera, which is just great; the photos come out very well, and users also get the option of Leica authentic for natural colors and Leica Vibrant for more vibrant or bunchy colors.
The portrait shots come out impressive, the background blur has been amazing, and subject separation is done flawlessly. Users can take 1x and 2x shots from portrait; both zooms take impressive photos.
The one downside for every Chinese smartphone for Indian users is smoothing the facial features. This feature of smoothing is actually not a downside in China, but around the world it might be a downside. The portrait shots miss details sometimes so the shots are like hit or miss, only background blur and subject separation is great.
The Night Mode shots are good but miss details. In daylight, the photos come out to be impressive, but in low light, the camera struggles.
The front camera is 32 MP, which takes good photos in daylight. The sharpness is great, and it has a natural skin tone. There is also a wide-angle camera for group photos, but sometimes colors are not accurate while using a wide-angle camera.
There are a ton of modes to experiment with when shooting movies. With the ability to record 4K footage with all four cameras, it’s very good for YouTubers or influencers. The primary camera will work best for capturing videos because it has OIS built in. Subject tracking is included, and widescreen shooting is possible with the Cinematic Vision option.

Performance and battery:
The smartphone is powered by Snapdragon’s latest chipset, 8s Gen 3, which is nowhere near 8s Gen 3, so don’t get confused. This chipset is based on 4nm fabrication and uses a 64-bit architecture. It packs an Ardeno 735 GPU, so those who are gamers don’t need to worry about playing casual games. It comes with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and has two storage options (256GB and 512GB) of UFS 4.0, which is good to see.
There is no lag whatsoever, so while playing games, scrolling through the web, opening or closing apps, or watching videos, you will not encounter any lag or stutter. The UI of HyperOS is far superior to that of MIUI. It’s getting lighter and cleaner over time, but there is still some bloatware. It feels smoother overall and has a lot more customization options than before. Up to four years of security patches and three years of software upgrades are guaranteed by Xiaomi.
Noe lets talk about benchmark results as per AnTuTu score it is around 1443011. which is not close to 8 gen 3 actually it is slightly better than 7+ gen 3.
For geek bench results single core score is around 1913 and multi core score is around 5087 which is again slightly better than 7+ gen 3.
The smartphone packs with 4700mAh battery, you need to charge next day, all new smartphones battery life last for a day or more but things change after 6 months. The 67W rapid charging adaptor that comes in the box is good, though, since it can charge the phone from 0% to 100% in about 40 minutes. A useful tool when you’re pressed for time.
