Motorola Edge 50 launched in India at Rs. 27,999, while recently Nothing launched its successor of the Nothing Phone 2a, i.e., the Nothing Phone 2a Plus, which launched at Rs. 27,999 which has same price as Motorola.
Due to the same price and similar set of specifications, we have compared them for you so that you can pick the best phoneโMotorola Edge 50 vs. Nothing Phone 2a Plus.
Motorola Edge 50 vs Nothing Phone 2a Plus: Design and Display
In terms of design, the Motorola Edge 50 and Nothing Phone (2a) Plus are extremely different. You may get a lean and elegant body in vegan suede and leather with the Edge 50. In addition to its IP68 rating and MIL-STD 810H military-grade certification, it is highly durable. The Nothing Phone 2a Plus uses glyph lighting; it is similar to the Phone 2a released earlier; it is so similar that users won’t be able to tell the difference. It depends on users which type of smartphone they want, one with the glyph lighting or one with more protection. I would prefer the Motorola Edge 50 for extra protection.
Both of the displays are great, but Moto has an edge over the Nothing Phone 2a Plus. The Edge 50 has 1.5K resolution and higher brightness. Motorola Edge 50 has P-OLED display with 1220×2712 px (FHD+) resolution and has Gorilla Glass 5 protection. On the other hand, Nothing Phone 2a Plus comes with Flexible AMOLED with 1084×2412 px (FHD+) resolution and has the same Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Both have a punch hole design, but the Motorola Edge 60 has a curved display, while the Nothing Phone 2a Plus has a flat display.
Motorola Edge 50 vs Nothing Phone (2a) Plus: Performance
Nothing Phone 2a is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7350 Pro chipset, and Motorola Edge 50 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 Accelerated Edition; both are based on 4nm fabrication.
For both phones, we do have the benchmark results. The Motorola phone receives a score of 714,290 on AnTuTu, however the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus receives a better score of 771,496. The single-core test results from Geek bench are likewise comparable. However, the Edge 50 appears to be more capable of tackling demanding tasks, as seen by its far higher multi-core score of 3,047 on Geek bench (compared to Nothing’s 2,201).Both smartphones have great specs; users won’t feel any lag or jitter on either of the smartphones.
Both smartphones can handle heavy tasks easily. This is not a gaming smartphone, but you can play casual games and also somewhat heavy games like COD or BGMI/PUBG. If you are playing games like Genshin Impact, then you won’t get a higher FPS; it’s better to buy a gaming phone or phone with top specs. By the way Motorola Edge 50 gets Slightly hotter compare to Nothing Phone 2a plus which is not a big issue because Moto phone gets hot but is not too much hot.

Motorola Edge 50 vs Nothing Phone (2a) Plus: Cameras
The 50MP primary cameras of the Motorola Edge 50 and Nothing Phone (2a) Plus each have separate sensors, thus both devices should provide high-quality images. The 13MP camera on the Edge 50 is not as good as the 50MP ultra-wide camera on the Phone (2a) Plus.
Both of the smartphones take great photos in well-lit environments, but in low light the photos are much better, but still they are good compared to their competitors. To be honest I like Photos of Nothing Phone 2a Plus.
Same is the case with selfie camera, in low light the photos are average but daylight the photos comes out impressive.
Motorola Edge 50 vs Nothing Phone (2a) Plus:ย Battery
You should get around the same amount of battery life because both phones have 5,000mAh batteries. The Edge 50 supports 15W wireless, 5W reverse wireless, and 68W rapid charging. The Phone (2a) Plus supports 5W reverse wired charging and 50W charging, which is a little slower.
I always say battery test is useless in Androidย you know what happens after 6 months or 1 year, You will have to charge your smartphone twice a day.

Verdict:
These two smartphones are in a fierce competition with each charging Rs 27,999 for the 8GB RAM version of the Motorola Edge 50 and Rs 2,999 for the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus. The Motorola smartphone is only offered with this RAM configuration; however, the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus, which costs Rs 29,999, also has a 12GB RAM version.
The Phone (2a) Plus has an advantage in graphics and gaming performance thanks to its greater RAM option. Nothing provides four years of security patches and three years of Android updates in terms of support. However, Motorola will only offer security fixes and software updates for two years. In my opinion Motorola Edge 50 might be a better choice for power users and Nothing Phone 2a Plus for casual users, because Moto has impressive processing capabilities.
