Following a software update, a number of OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 10 Pro owners report that their phones are dead. After Green line issue users are now facing new issue dead motherboard. There have been reports of motherboard problems with certain OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 10 Pro smartphones.
The issue was discovered after a user on X (formerly Twitter) going by the handle OnePlus Club published photos from the OnePlus Community showing customers complaining about motherboard failure.
Recently so many OnePlus 9 and 10 series users have reported that their device’s motherboard is getting dead and no support is being provided by OnePlus in this regard!

OnePlus dead motherboard issue:
OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 10 Pro users are facing a dead motherboard issue. This has happened after the OTA update; some users said that their device went dead after heating issues, and another user said the screen went black and then the phone wouldn’t turn on.
For now, only two phones are facing issues; this issue may not be limited to a specific model. Most probably this is an update problem, which OnePlus needs to fix, or other phones might also have the have the same problem, especially premium smartphones.
A user of a OnePlus 10 Pro said that when he went to the service center, the company was charging Rs 42,000 to replace the motherboard, which might sometimes be more expensive than the phone itself. Another user reported that a software update caused their OnePlus 9 to die, and the service facility demanded Rs 27,000 for a motherboard replacement.

There is no official statement from OnePlus about the issue, but many users are blaming the recent software update that has been released by OnePlus.
Users have previously encountered similar issues. The brand announced a lifetime warranty in August of last year for customers impacted by the controversial green line problem. Subsequently, the brand said that it will replace the impacted phones’ screens for free. Lets hope this time also OnePlus helps dead motherboard users.
