Mahindra Thar and XUV700 Facelifts

The Mahindra Thar and XUV700 Facelifts will retain powertrain options, but they will have some changes in their styling and equipment. According to reports, the Thar facelift will borrow styling cues from Thar Roxx, and the XUV 700 will be heavily inspired by Mahindra’s latest EV models, BE6 and XEV 9e.

According to reports, Mahindra is developing a “comprehensive update” for the XUV700 and Thar. A media report states that both SUVs’ facelifted models are anticipated to go on sale in 2026.

Following the 2020 release of the 3-door Thar, the 5-door Thar Roxx model was introduced. The Thar Roxx is reportedly the source of design inspiration for the next 3-door Thar (codenamed: W515). The SUV may get new alloy wheels, reworked bumpers, LED headlights with C-shaped LED DRLs, and a similar front grille.

3 Door facelift- Thar

It is anticipated that the Mahindra Thar facelift would use some external and interior elements from the five-door Thar Roxx to maximize manufacturing efficiency. With modifications to the front grille, headlights, and bumper design, the front fascia may receive a significant makeover. New alloy wheels and upgraded body cladding are probably in the works for the side profile. Except for minor modifications to the bumper design and more intricate detailing in the tail lights, the rear profile will essentially stay the same.

More high-end amenities, including a bigger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a completely digital instrument cluster, will be included within the Mahindra Thar facelift. The current model has a 7-inch touchscreen, analogue dials, and a TFT multi-information display. Likely, hardtop Thar facelift models might also get a sunroof. The Mahindra Thar may also get new control buttons and take inspiration from Roxx’s steering wheel.

The present model’s powertrain options will be retained for the Thar facelift. The 2.0-liter engine used in petrol versions produces 150 horsepower. The 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission produces 320 Nm of torque, while the 6-speed manual transmission produces 300 Nm. Both a 1.5-liter and a 2.2-liter diesel engine are available for the Thar. Only a 6-speed manual transmission is available for the smaller model, which produces 117 horsepower and 300 Nm. The 2.2-liter diesel produces 300 Nm and 130 horsepower. Its gearbox options are identical to those of the gasoline engine.

XUV 700 Facelift

The XUV700 makeover is probably going to feature a sharper profile, akin to Mahindra’s latest EVs, the BE 6 and XEV 9e. These two have been well praised for their sturdy performance, high-tech features, and athletic look. All of these EVs are already making well over 6% of the business’s total sales. For certain variations, the waiting period has been extended to six months. The XUV700 facelift will, if feasible, include features and style from the BE 6 and XEV 9e.

Modifications to the grille, linked LED headlights, and bumper design are examples of exterior improvements. Sharper body cladding and squared-off wheel arches might refresh the side appearance. Additionally, the XUV700’s inside will be updated for a sportier appearance and feel. Even though the XUV700 has a lot of functions now, there is room for several more. An improved ADAS package might improve safety.

The XUV700 facelift will continue to provide the same powertrain options. 197 horsepower and 380 Nm of torque are produced by the 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine. There are two transmission options: 6MT and 6AT. Diesel versions come with two tuning options and use a 2.2-liter turbocharged engine. The lowest variant, which comes with 6MT, has an output of 153 horsepower and 360 Nm. Higher versions produce 182 horsepower and 420 Nm of torque with 6MT and 450 Nm with 6AT.
