Tata Harrier EV India Launch
Tata Motors will finally launch the Harrier EV in India on June 3, 2025, and it’s not getting delayed. Tata Motors showcased the production version at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo in January 2025. The company recently released images and videos which gives us idea how interior cabin will look. The Harrier EV’s technical specifications, including as its battery, range, and charging time, have not yet been made public. It is probably going to cost between Rs 25 and Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom).
The outward features of the Harrier EV, including its blade-shaped DRLs, blacked-out D-pillar, floating roofline, hefty wheel arches, and vertical LED headlights, will be quite similar to those of its ICE-powered predecessor. The electric SUV will also include integrated LED fog lamp housings in the rear bumper that are positioned vertically.
Wheel diameters for the Tata Harrier EV might range from 17 to 19 inches. The “.EV” emblems on the front doors, the “HARRIER.EV” insignia on the tailgate, and the silver-finished body cladding are a few of the prominent EV-specific features. Because the wheelbase and ground clearance are the same, its dimensions will be comparable to those of the ICE version.
The Harrier EV will continue to employ the same Omega platform as the ICE-powered variant because it is not a completely new electric SUV that was created from the ground up. With certain chassis modifications and a redesigned floor to accommodate the battery pack and other electrical components, Tata Motors has significantly modernized this architecture. The business has already made comparable changes to Punch’s ALFA platform for the EV version, so this is nothing new.
Inside the cabin, the Harrier EV will use the conventional (ICE) SUV’s dual-tone dashboard and touch-based HVAC controls. OTA updates, a four-spoke steering wheel, a panoramic sunroof, an all-digital instrument cluster, linked car technology, and a floating touchscreen infotainment system are just a few of the high-end amenities it will include. Furthermore, it has been verified that the e-SUV’s top-end trims include the V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) capability.
The Harrier EV’s technical specifications are yet unknown. However, because of the installation of an electric motor on the back axle, it will have an AWD system. “A more powerful back axle-mounted motor is added to the Harrier EV. In a media interview, Vivek Srivatsa, chief commercial officer of Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, stated, “You can do a lot more with electric motors, especially for performance.” Although the manufacturer has not yet disclosed the power output, it will provide 500 Nm of torque.
