Samsung began rolling out its latest One UI 7 update to smartphones on April 7, but users have found that they are not receiving the update. According to reports, the release has been suspended due to the bug. After updating the phone, users were not able to unlock the phone normally and also caused a battery drain issue. On Samsung’s official Korean forums, there is also discussion on the One UI 7 upgrade being delayed.

The “serious” bug was discovered on the Korean Galaxy S24 series following the One UI 7 upgrade, according to tipster Ice Universe on X (previously Twitter), which caused the tech giant to postpone its intentions to release the most recent model worldwide.

One UI 7 Features

Samsung’s most recent UI, One UI, is built on top of Android 15. Smoother animations, quicker app launches, Now Bar (a lock screen option to manage music, notifications, and other real-time alerts), and a slew of AI capabilities like AI Select, Writing Assist, and Audio Eraser are just a few of the benefits that the new user interface offers.

Samsung launched the flagship Galaxy S25 series in January to start its most recent upgrade, as it does each year. The most recent software has been included in every newly released smartphone since then, including the Galaxy A36 and the Galaxy A56 (review), albeit several functionalities have been trimmed, and the UI is cluttered with advertisements.

Galaxy S24 One UI 7.0 stable update to roll out today (15th April IST)

Samsung will continue rolling out the stable One UI 7.0 upgrade for the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra today, according to trustworthy leaker Ice Universe (@UniverseIce). Samsung appears to have fixed the major issue that prompted the firm to stop the rollout and is now prepared to begin releasing the upgrade for its high-end phones.

Yesterday, it was discovered that certain Galaxy S24 customers were unable to unlock their handsets due to a fault in the stable version. According to reports, this fault only affected South Korean devices. To be safe, Samsung nevertheless continued to halt the deployment in every market. Samsung is prepared to release One UI 7.0 for the Galaxy S24 series now that the problem has been resolved. It’s unclear if the Galaxy Z Flip 6, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition will also get an update release.

Samsung has previously irritated its fans by postponing the One UI 7.0 upgrade for several months. Additionally, the company’s software development and testing capabilities were called into question by the recent catastrophic problem, which affected us as well. It is hoped that the update will be quickly made available to other smartphones in every market across the world.
